Day To day

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Above & Beyond Photographic Tours and Safaris team and transferred to your chosen accommodation in Arusha. Options include Outpost Lodge (budget), Arusha Planet Lodge (midrange), or Arusha Coffee Lodge (luxury). Spend the evening relaxing, adjusting to the climate, and preparing for the trek ahead.

Day 2: Arusha – Momella Gate (1,500m) to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Momella Gate, the starting point of the Mount Meru trek. Following registration, begin your ascent through lush montane forest within Arusha National Park, where giraffes, buffalo, and colobus monkeys are often seen. Trek approximately 10 km in 4–5 hours, steadily climbing to Miriakamba Hut.

Day 3: Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) to Saddle Hut (3,570m)

Continue ascending through forest and heathland as the trail becomes steeper and more dramatic. Trek 5 km in 3–4 hours, enjoying sweeping views of the Meru Crater and surrounding plains. On clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro appears majestically in the distance. Arrive at Saddle Hut, your base for the summit attempt.

Day 4: Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak (4,562m) – Miriakamba Hut

Rise before dawn for the summit ascent to Socialist Peak, navigating rocky ridges and steep volcanic terrain. The 5 km trek takes 4–6 hours, rewarding you with an unforgettable sunrise and panoramic views stretching across Kilimanjaro, the Rift Valley, and the surrounding plains. After celebrating at the summit, descend back to Miriakamba Hut for rest and recovery.

Day 5: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate – Arusha

Descend through lush forest to Momella Gate, covering 10 km in 2–3 hours. Upon completion, you will receive your Mount Meru summit certificates before transferring back to Arusha. Enjoy a relaxed evening celebrating your successful climb.

Day 6: Departure
